2. Master the technique known as eye fixation whereby clumps of 2-5 words are taken in a single eye movement rather than an eye movement for each word. This is not at all difficult and with a few practice exercise it becomes amazingly simple and achievable.
3. To read in clumps of words however is more intense, because the readers must allow himself/herself to be drawn into the thought process of the writer, connecting with their feelings and less with what is written.
4. Throughout the whole process it will be important to measure ones reading speed by so much words per minute. Then there is the effective reading rate or ERR which takes into consideration the level of comprehension.
5. As we become more technical competent in eye fixation it becomes quite easy to browse vertically, horizontally as well across the page and grasp the picture of the writers thoughts. There is nothing more dramatic in demonstrating the power of eye fixation and taking in clumps of words than an exercise in reading jumbled words. It was absolutely awesome.
I have a passion to read and write. As a teacher I feel confident that this forum will give me opportunity to share my thoughts on many topics. EzineArticles is a great site that will give me the opportunity to sharpen my writing and review skills. I love to write and hope someday to write books perhaps self help. I am also planning on pursuing a PhD, so I believe this is good practice to sharpen my literary skills, develop expert competence as well as growing my online business.
