Is it real?
Many people are skeptical about fast reading and some of them think that it really does not work and that these courses are a scam. I have taught it to thousands of people and an overwhelming majority of them has succeeded in increasing their reading speed. It works for everyone who practices hard enough. I have had customers who never finished 9th grade or who are more than 70 years old. They all have learned to read faster.
How much can you increase your make progress?
An average reading speed for an average person is about 180-250 words per minute. It means it takes 2-2.5 minutes to read a typical 500 word page. Most people are able to at least double their reading speed after learning special techniques. Therefore reaching 500 words per minute is not a miracle. If you take it very seriously and practice hard then you may triple your initial reading speed.
How much do I have to practice speed reading?
It is possible to get an overview of the most important techniques in one day, but it takes practice to master them. Reading is a practical thing and you will not improve your performance without doing practical exercises.
In order to make progress you have to make changes into your reading habits. Developing new habits and hardening them takes time. Everyday practice is necessary. In order to achieve good results, I would recommend you to practice 45 minutes a day for one month.
Should I use speed reading software?
Using software packages can help you to increase your learning efficiency. You will benefit from it for widening your field of vision. Still, you have to practice reading in the real-life situations, such as printed texts.
