Because of the constancy of change, the actions that follow a choice move you to different co-ordinates. You’re never faced with exactly the same choices, nor will they appear to you in such manner. Therefore, each choice you take takes you away from the opportunity to make another choice, and opens a different set of choices in front of you. Remember, the future is the sum of the choices and actions made in the past.
If you have ended up into an unpleasant totality of causalities, you can alter your future to the better by envisioning constructive counter actions against them. If you have for example allowed yourself to be hurt from a verbal assault, and respond by choosing to verbally hurt back the other, dispositioned yourself to mental co-ordinates where such and such knowledge exists, and then later choose not be harmed by the fowl words of a mocker, and realize that you are what you make yourself manifest, you may learn to defeat the mocker with the truth of what they manifest, not be harmed by words as you know the truth of yourself, and return to walk on the path of the eternal truth, consequently, by creating constructive counter actions, the unpleasant totality of causalities may turn out to create a better future for you.
It can help you to perceive how choices open other choices if you draw first five lines. Then choose one of the lines, place a dot to its end, and draw five lines from that dot, and then choose again. The line between the two dots is the time the action after the choice took, and the following dot the moment when other choices emerge. You will learn to master time only after you learn to perceive this emergence in your life. Those who master only a day, do not master time at all, as it would be the same to say that a caring parent only plans her children’s future for only a day forwards, or that an artist will paint a gallery’s worth of paintings during the day she takes the brush to her hands for the first time in her life. Yet, in the path of your individual existence, it is not as important to memorize the choices in the path, as it is to train the consciousness to perceive better choices throughout a lifetime. Only that is a part of the true development.
