I Really Want to Pay for My College but My Parents…?

I'm going to college after summer (in fact I just took my physical exam today) and I really want to pay for college myself, get a job and just pay for it. I know how much all the fees costs all together every semester, plus my college can give scholarships per semester if you do good on your previous one (of something like that) I want to because, I really don't want to be under my parents control anymore, in my country when you go to college you'd probably still live in your parents house, dorms are only for students from the provinces and I live in the city. I'm 16 (skipped a few grades) and I know where I'd live already, studying won't be much of a problem since I basically have a photographic memory, and I practically live on canned tuna (my parents are really busy people, my mom doesn't do the groceries till the fridge is literally empty, like the fridge would look like it was new again) she wouldn't even notice it was empty so it'd be empty for days. I'll take any work I can find, like call center agent (lots of those in my country) or cashier or anything really! But every time I ask my mom if I could get a job she says "just clean your room" I mean, i thought they'd be proud of me.

Suggestion:

Get the job and save as much money as possible, you are clearly very bright, especially for a 16yr old. Don't squander your savings, keep saving and at the end of your college course you can pay them back all at once, it'll give them enough money to treat themselves.

There is a chance that your rents and you 'split up' and they stop supporting you, you will then have the savings to fall back on.

Best of luck with your course.

yeah well, they still want you under their control. so just leave them and pay for it yourself then if you want. boy, that must be nice to live in a country where there are alot of jobs, lmao.
