Life Stress Management: Prioritize, Categorize and Systemize

So many factors in all aspects of our lives can lead us to stress. There are three major factors of life that may be traced as root causes of stress: family, work, and money. These three factors often create a domino effect which affects one another resulting to finding yourself in the verge of stress.

Occupation and the workplace are the top attractions of stress. Stress caused by work, if not immediately dealt with at the workplace, can affect the matter of interaction at home. If still not managed, it can create a lot more damage, such as broken relationships, divorce, and whatnot. These situations often lead to depression and other mental states.

The first step in stress management is identifying the cause of the stress. An example of a work-related stressor is always being reprimanded for being late. If this happens consistently, then try adjusting your daily routine to be able to report at the office on time. Once this is done, give yourself a pat on the back as you just took the first step towards time management.

Another most common major stressor at work and home is immense workload with little time to finish it. The pile of workloads laid on the desk is only one of the many situations that may lead to stress. This issue can be addressed by three simple steps: categorize, prioritize and systematize.

Prioritizing is to give importance to those tasks that need to be done immediately. Then categorize the task with their corresponding time allotment and importance. Lastly, systemize your tasks accordingly with what has been categorized and prioritized. Being systematic requires strict adherence for time and focus on the task you’re currently working on. Distractions only derail the work and must be prevented.
